We’re making some changes to Slide which may affect you

 

We would like to announce that from 15th August 2017, we will be implementing some significant changes to the Slide service which may well affect your use of our service.

In July 2016 we set out on our mission to take the hassle out of getting to and from work in Bristol. Over the last 12 months we’ve seen a lot of love for Slide and things have gone from strength to strength. We also saw a lot of demand, and from areas outside where we originally operated, we responded to this by expanding into new areas of the city with more vehicles and more drivers. 

A response to demand
As a new and growing business we’re constantly testing the waters, listening to what passengers have to say and looking at our data. This helps us to know where demand for our service is coming from, and as a result we are making changes to more closely align with where our passengers have told us they want to go.

Our data tells us that the majority of bookings come from a few core areas of Bristol. In order to ensure that we can meet this demand successfully these will be the areas where we will focus the Slide service going forward as shown in the map below. If you live and work in the blue zone above then nothing has changed for you, please continue to use Slide as usual.

If you are affected by our changes, we’d like to thank you for all of your support so far and please accept our apologies for the disruption caused to your routine. We hope that this isn’t goodbye but just a temporary parting of ways and that you’ll be happy to Slide again with us at some point in the future.

What areas will Slide be operating in?
From 15th August 2017 the Slide service will operate in an area that roughly covers Almondsbury, Bradley Stoke, Filton, UWE, Gloucester Road, Redland, Clifton, City Centre, Southville and parts of Bedminster. We will also still continue to serve both Parkway and Temple Meads train stations. If you work or live in these areas your service should not be affected. Have a look at our map here to see in more detail if we serve your area.

When will the changes take place?
The service will begin to operate only in the areas listed (and outlined on the map above) from 15th August 2017 , until then Slide will continue to operate as it has been. 

What about the Slide credit that is in my account after 15th August 2017?
If you are unable to use Slide after this date and have any leftover Slide credit then please send an email to hello@slidebristol.com and we will be happy to refund you. 

I live just outside the new service area, can I still use Slide?
When you search for a journey you will be given a list of pickup options if these are close enough for you to walk to. Alternatively you could try to search using an address which is just within the pickup area.

Why have you made the change?
We hope that the changes will ensure that we can continue to grow as a business, serving Bristol well into the future whilst maintaining the high level of service that we aspire to.
