Bonfire Night 2017: Bristol's Best Bangs, Whooshes and Whizzes

The nights are already starting to draw in and there’s definitely an autumnal feeling in the air. Time to dig out the gloves, hats and scarves and huddle up to enjoy an evening of ‘OOOooooh’s, ‘AAAaaaaah’s and ‘WOOOoooooooh’s’!

So this Bonfire Night, get your toffee apples and sparklers at the ready (mittens of course...safety first) and head to one of the fantastic displays around this fine city of ours, but which one, there’s so much choice?

Here’s our pick of the best displays, we’ve noted which ones you can take a Slide to. We’ve got big discounts when you book as a group!

Friday 3rd November

Downend Round Table Fireworks
Time: Gates open at 5.30pm, kids display at 6:30pm, adults display at 8pm
How much: Tickets cost £7 per adult or £5 per child (under 16), family tickets are £20. Buy your tickets online in advance and get more info here
Where: King George V Playing Fields, Downend
What’s great about it: There’s food stalls and the Great Western Brewery will be running the bar!

Henleaze Infant School Firework Display
Time: Starts at 7pm
How much: Prices on the night are £5 per adult, £3 per child or save £1 with earlybird tickets from The Eastfield Inn & Chandos Deli on Henleaze High Street
Where: Henleaze Infant School, Park Grove, Henleaze, Bristol, BS9 4LG. 
What’s great about it: Perfect family fun and there’s mulled wine and hot dogs too

Saturday 4th November

Canford Park Fireworks Fiesta
Time: Gates open 6pm, Display begins 7pm
How much: £5 and under 3s are free. Buy online at fireworksfiesta.co.uk
Where: Canford Lane, Westbury on Trym, BS9 3NX
What’s great about it: One of the best, and it’s all for charity too!

Bishops Road Fireworks Extravaganza
Time: 5pm
How much: £6 adults, £3 childen (under 3s go free). Get tickets from Boston Tea Party 293 Gloucester Road from 28th October
Where: School Field, Off Bishop Road, Bishopston, Bristol, BS7 8LQ
What’s great about it: Nice and local if you live in the Horfield area. Book a Slide to get you there.

No Bang Bonfire Night at Boiling Wells
It’s a UV Extravaganza, there’s live music, a BBQ & bar, UV facepainting, a UV barn Kid's Rave and free glowstick for all! 
Time: As soon as it gets dark (around 6pm)
How much: £7. Tickets available here
Where: Boiling Wells Woodland, St Werberghs City Farm, BS2 9XY
What’s great about it: If you don’t like fireworks this is the one for you. Book a Slide to get you there.

Trinity Centre Festival of Light
Time: 6pm
How much: £2 donation
Where: Trinity Centre, Trinity Road, Bristol, BS2 0NW
What’s great about it: It’s more than a firework display, watch a performance from the amazing Invisible Circus as well as live bands. Book a Slide to get you there.

Sunday 6th November

Victoria Park Bonfire Night
Time: from 5pm
Not strictly a firework display but a good old fashioned bonfire night! Victoria Park's bonfire celebrations are an authentic way to mark the occasion. Expect a great range of food and drink stalls as a 'Judge the Guy' competition.
Where: Victoria Park, BS3
What’s great about it: Attendees are encouraged to bring contributions to the fire (wood only), perfect if you’ve been clearing out the garden! Book a Slide to get you there.

Bradley Stoke Town Council Fireworks Display
Time: Gates open at 4:30pm, display at 6pm
How much: FREE!
Where: Jubilee Centre, Savages Wood Road, Bradley Stoke
What’s great about it: It’s free (and you can donate to charity instead)! Book a Slide to get you there.
