WHEN CAN I BOOK A SLIDE?
Slide is a service for Bristol's commuters, we operate Monday to Friday. You can Slide during the following times: 6:45am – 9:45am and 3:30pm – 7:30pm.
HOW MUCH DOES A SLIDE COST?
Slide is cheaper than a taxi, at least half the price in fact. Our fares are fixed and upfront and cost £4-7. Search in-app to find your fare. You can save up to 40% by purchasing Slide credit in-app, just go to the My Wallet section, click here for more info.
WHICH AREAS DOES SLIDE OPERATE IN?
We are operating in areas where our research told us there was the most demand. So that's an area that covers the City Centre, Clifton, Gloucester Road, Redland, Southville and parts of Bedminster as well as Almondsbury, Bradley Stoke, Filton and UWE. We also serve both Parkway and Temple Meads train stations. Have a look at our map here to see in more detail if we serve your area. DOES SLIDE COME TO MY DOOR?
To make our pickup times as speedy as possible we’ve allocated convenient pickup and drop off points. These will be within five minutes walk of your home and work. Let us know if there's something we can improve at [email protected].
HOW MANY PEOPLE DO I TRAVEL WITH?
Our comfy vehicles are for eight passengers maximum. You can also book seats for your friends and colleagues.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
There’s no magic wand for traffic congestion (if only) but our app gives you an estimated travel time when you book and real-time updates updates along the route to account for busy sections.
MY PICKUP TIME HAS CHANGED, WHY?
Don't worry, we'll still get you there on time. The pickup time you select may change by a few minutes to account for other pickups or if your driver is held up in traffic. However, we have accounted for this when predicting your journey time so your drop off time should not be affected, more often that not we get passengers to their destinations earlier than predicted. We recommend you check the app regularly for updates to your pickup time before going to your pickup point.
HOW DO I PAY?
No rummaging for change or making cash point stops. Slide is a cash-free service which you pay for on your phone. Your card details will be securely held by Payline and not stored by Slide.
HOW CAN I BOOK A SEAT?
Once you’ve downloaded the app you can book your ride by signing up and registering your card details. Then to book, you simply select your pickup and drop off points, choose your journey time and tap to pay.
WILL MULTIPLE PICKUPS AFFECT MY JOURNEY TIME?
We group you with passengers on similar journeys. The pickup time displayed in your app may change by a few minutes to account for other pickups, however, we have accounted for this when predicting your journey time so your drop off time should not be affected. We recommend you check the app regularly for updates to your pickup time before going to your pickup point.
CAN CHILDREN TRAVEL ON SLIDE?
For those with children up to the age of 14 wishing to travel unaccompanied, you must email [email protected] confirming booking details (name, email, age of child, date and time of the trip) and that you approve your child is ok to travel unaccompanied, so we can inform the assigned driver. Drivers will not accept children without having approval from head office prior to the trip. Baby/toddlers up to age 2 can sit on an adult’s lap (no ticket required), age 2-7 must be accompanied by an adult, both require tickets. Age 8-13 can travel alone as long as they have parental consent (as above). For children accompanied by an adult, no consent is required. HOW ARE YOUR DRIVERS PAID?
We’re a fair and responsible employer and our employees are very important to us and our business. Whilst we are not at liberty to disclose individual pay rates, we can say that our drivers are paid a fair hourly wage, well above that of the National Living Wage. We’re also proud of the fact that 75% of drivers are recruited by word of mouth and referrals from existing drivers and the reason for joining us is commonly cited as the way we operate, our reputation and our terms and conditions of employment.
SLIDE WALKING DISTANCE TIMINGS
Please note that the walking times displayed within our app are taken from Google Maps and represent the average walking time to that pickup point and are therefore just a guideline. However, if you feel you require additional time, please allow for this at the time of booking.
IS SLIDE THE SAME AS UBERPOOL?
Slide is a service which you book in advance so your low-cost fare is fixed no matter if one or six riders get on board. You can also book for friends and colleagues.
SLIDE WAITING TIME POLICY
Our Drivers will wait two minutes at pickup points before departing and marking the journey as ‘no-show’. If you are late and miss your Slide you will still be charged for your journey. Booking details regarding the vehicle registration and the contact number for your driver will be displayed to you 30 minutes before your scheduled booking time.
SLIDE BOOKING POLICY
We are only able to transport the number of passengers displayed on the booking. You can check the number of passengers on the booking either in the app or in the confirmation of booking email.
If you require to change the number of passengers, you can cancel your booking and re-book for the correct number of people. we are only able to process refunds on journeys with incorrect passenger numbers as we do for any other journey: these can be refunded at no cost up to 10 minutes before the trip. After, as we have already dispatched the vehicle and possibly declined additional bookings, we can't process any additional refunds.
SLIDE REFUND POLICY
If you change your mind and wish to cancel your Slide, you can do so in the “My Rides” section of our app up to 10 minutes before your scheduled departure time and you will receive a full refund on your trip.
You may notice your pickup time change between the point of initial booking and when your Slide arrives, this is due to our grouping of journeys. However, this is accounted for when calculating the drop-off time so this is the latest we intend to drop you off. As such, we do not process refunds for delays. Slide will also not process refunds for delays, such as road congestion or traffic incidents across Bristol.
Occasionally we may have to change or cancel your Slide. This may be due to a service or driver issue but in the case of a cancellation, you will receive a full refund on your journey. In the unlikely event that we have to cancel your ride, you will receive a text to the device and phone number associated to your Slide account to inform you. At this point, you can go back into the Slide app and rebook for an alternative time.
In extreme and rare circumstances beyond the control of the Slide Bristol Operations Team may have to cancel services. In this scenario, we will inform you through a push notification from the app at the earliest opportunity and all trips will automatically be refunded.
